UVA Clubs: Behind the Scenes - Gardens of Georgia with Ben Baxter
Please join Behind the Scenes with alumnus Ben Baxter (Arch '00) in Isle of Hope, GA (Savannah). Ben will show us the various features of his 20-year-old project garden including plantings, a beautiful small pond, chicken coop, specimen trees, and more. A true plantsman, Ben has many interesting facts about what’s in his garden, including a Lambeth fig tree that is from the original fig tree planted at the Palace of Lambeth in the UK in 1552.
Ben will then take us to visit the houses of two UVA alumni in the area. The first is on the water with grand old oak trees and Spanish moss and then we arrive at the the second house, walking along the very picturesque bluff.
A video presentation will be followed by live Q&A with Ben.
This will be a fascinating conversation on both gardens and landscapes.
The Zoom link to join us will be sent via email before the event.
