Thomas Jefferson's Birthday Celebration featuring Professor Louis P. Nelson

The UVA Club of Palm Beaches invites all alumni, friends, and families to join us for wine, beer and hors d’oeuvres as we celebrate Thomas Jefferson’s 281st birthday on Wednesday, April 17 at 5:30 p.m. ET!

We are proud to feature Professor Louis P. Nelson (PAR '19, '22), Professor of Architectural History and the Vice Provost for Academic Outreach, who will speak about, “A Revolutionary Education: Jefferson and his Design for UVA”.

Thomas Jefferson’s contributions to the American Revolution were more than the Declaration of Independence. His design for the University of Virginia was based on his view that the best defense against a corrupt government was an educated citizenry. Learn how Jefferson imagined the design of the Academical Village as an extension of his commitments to graduating citizens for a new Republic.

Tickets must be purchased in advance only (not available at the door!).
