UVA Clubs: UVA Coastal Research Center Open House
The University of Virginia Coastal Research Center turns 20 this year! The UVA Clubs of the Eastern Shore and Tidewater, in partnership with the Coastal Research Center and the College of Arts and Sciences, invite all Hoos and their families to join us for a day of fun at the station. This family-friendly open house event will feature live music, food trucks, boat rides, science demonstrations, and more.
Meet scientists and hear about the research happening at the station and its effects on the environment. We’ll have a touch tank, opportunities to make coastal art, oyster tastings, and special exhibits from Shore Strong and Virginia Folklife. The event will be held rain or shine, but in the case of inclement weather, such as rain and/or strong winds, some activities may be modified or cancelled.
Boat rides will be reserved on a first come, first served basis. A limited number of spots will be available to reserve in advance when you register for the event. Day-of boat reservations may be available onsite as well.
Admission to the open house is free. Food and beverage will be available for purchase.
