UVA Club of San Antonio: Beer Tasting & UVA vs Louisville Hoops Watch Party

First and foremost, we hope that you made it safely through what has been another challenging and trying experience this past week. In light of the recent weather emergency, we decided to reschedule our beer tasting and game watch event to Saturday, March 6th at 2:00 p.m. CT. The UVA Men's Basketball team will take on the Louisville Cardinals at 3:00 p.m. CT. All alumni, parents, and friends are welcome to join us!

In the first part of our event, we are excited to welcome you to join our friends at Künstler Brewing, a San Antonio craft brewery in the Southtown neighborhood, for a virtual beer tasting event. We’ll have a Künstler employee lead us through the tasting of four different beers specially selected for our club. The employee will also discuss the craft brewing process in general and answer questions you may have about brewing, running a business in San Antonio, or any beer-related topics you can think of!

Admission & Beer Purchase Details:

Admission into the first part of this event includes 4 16 oz growlers of the beers to be sampled during the tasting. After registering and paying online, you will need to pick up the 4-pack from the brewery (302 E. LaChapelle San Antonio, TX 78204) on the Thursday, Friday, or Saturday leading up to the event. The registration/payment deadline for the event will be Tuesday, March 2nd at midnight. We’ve managed to secure a special UVA Club of San Antonio discount rate of $15 for the 4 growlers and tasting presentation, which is quite the steal! (basketball pun intended). If you wish to participate in the beer tasting, but you foresee picking up the beer from the brewery to be a problem, then please reach out to Jeffrey King (CLAS '12) at jmk6ad@gmail.com.

Speaking of basketball, after the beer tasting, we’ll flow into an online happy hour/virtual game watch party as we cheer on our Wahoos against the Louisville Cardinals. Payment for the beer tasting is not necessary for participation in this part of the event. We will watch the game together and keep the conversation going so that we can react in unison to those vicious Jay Huff blocks and dunks we all know and love.
