UVA Club of Baltimore: Blink of an Eye Benefit Party
All alumni, friends, and families are invited to join the UVA Club of Baltimore for an evening of music and community, featuring the talented singer Letitia VanSant, all in support of Blink an Eye Nonprofit.
The event will take place at the beautiful Second Chance Concept House in Towson (Baltimore), Maryland, and will feature a private concert by the award-winning singer-songwriter Letitia VanSant. Enjoy delicious food, beer, wine, and our signature Baltimore Southside Cocktails. All proceeds support our SCI Navigator Program, which provides 24/7 emotional, relational, financial, and medical support to BLINK SCI families in Baltimore and across the U.S.—every day of the year—through our hotline and your generous referrals.
Tickets are $100 and can be purchased at this link.
Our Club's connection to this event is through our event coordinator, Louise Phipps Senft (Col '83, PAR '25) and her husband, Billy Senft (McIntire '83, PAR '25). They currently live in Baltimore and have five children, including son Archer, who was 19 when he suffered an acute spinal cord injury in a diving accident, resulting in paralysis from quadriplegia. Archer and the Senfts are an inspiration to many other families who experience crisis and trauma in their lives and choose to live with hope.
For more information on this event, please contact Louise Phipps Senft (Col '83, PAR '25) at louise@blinkofaneye.org.
About the musical entertainment:
Letitia VanSant's lyrics are as personal as they are about social justice, tracing questions of power into the human heart. With sparse indie folk arrangements fortifying a distinctly intimate vocal style, her stage presence is down-to-earth and immediate. Paste Magazine named her among 10 Artists to Watch in 2020, BBC Radio said "she is a fascinating new artist,” and PopMatters called her “a consummate reflection of a rising Americana star.” Her songwriting has earned several awards, including the Kerrville New Folk Songwriting Competition. Vansant’s debut album "Gut It to the Studs" established her as an emerging talent on the Americana scene and propelled her on her first UK/European tour. Its follow-up, "Circadian", was released February 21, 2020.
