UVA Club of Baltimore: Virtual Fireside Chat with Margot Lee Shetterly
All alumni, friends, and families are invited by the UVA Club of Baltimore for a unique hybrid virtual fireside chat featuring Margot Lee Shetterly (McIntire '91), the acclaimed author of Hidden Figures. This event offers a blend of in-person and virtual participation, allowing attendees to engage with Mrs. Shetterly who will be speaking virtually on Zoom.
In-Person attendee information:
We will begin with a mixer at Chesapeake Wine Company (2400 Boston St.) before the fireside chat at 6:30 p.m. - tickets are $10 and include food and wine.
Virtual attendee information:
Attendees can join us virtually for free at 7 p.m., the Zoom link will be sent to all registrants before the event starts.

About our speaker:
Writer, researcher, and entrepreneur Margot Lee Shetterly is the author of the #1 New York Times bestseller Hidden Figures: The American Dream and the Untold Story of the Black Women Mathematicians Who Helped Win the Space Race, and an Executive Producer of the Oscar-nominated film adaptation of her book. She is also the founder of the Human Computer Project, a digital archive telling the stories of women from all backgrounds who worked as “Human Computers” at NASA and other organizations. Shetterly is a scholar-in-residence at the University of Virginia, with joint appointments at the McIntire School of Commerce and the School of Engineering.
