Andy Nguyen (Ed ’23, Col ’23) he/him
As a first-generation student, Andy Nguyen was intimidated when he arrived on Grounds, but found support within various organizations such as QuestBridge.
As a fourth year, he was the recipient of two scholarships, on the Dean’s List, President of The Raven Society, and a Lawnie.
He was the first in his family to graduate from college and is pursuing his dream career in youth psychology. “Being a first-gen student means I’m passionate and resilient against all the obstacles in my way. I’m achieving amazing things. And I’m debt-free because of UVA’s incredible financial aid,” Nguyen said.
