Center For Politics' Common Grounds

Join the Center for Politics for the premiere of its latest documentary, Common Grounds, a film produced by
UVA student interns to explore the political differences of students at UVA.

About the Center for Politics

The Center for Politics thought – provoking and timely political analysis and our pragmatic civic education programs have formed the core of our activities throughout the past decade.

The Center is a part of the National Campaign for Political & Civic Engagement, a consortium of 20 universities and colleges with academic programs in politics. Its priorities, directed towards college students are to establish:

  • A relationship with electoral politics
  • A foundation in civic education
  • A focus on career development

The Center addresses these priorities through activities and programs such as our student Voter Registration Coalition, our internship program, an annual career panel, and the Youth Leadership Initiative.

Larry Sabato, founder and director of the University of Virginia Center for Politics and Professor of Politics, will open the event. Alumni, friends, and families will view the documentary and then a panel of UVA students will discuss their participation in the project. Audience members can ask questions and participate in the exploration of political dialogue.
