As UVA students, we are philanthropists— giving our time
and energy to leave our mark on this special place. 4th Year
Giving gives us the opportunity to show our gratitude,
support our favorite causes, and help future Hoos with a gift
to honor the end of our time as students.
Class giving is a long-standing tradition at UVA and around the U.S., during which graduating students make a gift to their university to mark the end of their time as students.
Gifts are accepted via Venmo, Apply Pay, Credit Card, and Paypal. Gifts of any dollar amount are accepted.
Your gift can be to any UVA area with an account— this means your school, CIO, secret society, favorite sports team, scholarship, etc. all count!
Philanthropy cords are awarded with gifts of $5 annually or $10 outright. Pick up your cord at Cap & Gown Week with your other graduation gear.

Absolutely. When you make your gift, just tap on the areas you want to give to and then designate how much $ you want to go to each.

Through a survey this year, we learned over 80% of UVA recent grads give to show their gratitude for the areas at the University that made their experience special, and to help future Hoos. While only 10% give to boost UVA's ranking, it is true a higher percentage of alum that give annually increases UVA's ranking in U.S. News & World Report, which ultimately increases the value of the degree we all hold.
